L-Mesitran® Net has an unique design. The open weave net in this medical device allows for passage of wound exudates to be absorbed by a secondary dressing, avoiding maceration of the surrounding tissue. The hydrogel in L-Mesitran® Net holds the honey in a polymer network and humectant, providing a moist wound environment. The honey will kill bacteria and fungi and will prevent further contamination or growth. This activity is due to the high osmotic properties of honey and makes L-Mesitran® Net a valuable member of the L-Mesitran® antibacterial hydrogel family.
