L-Mesitran® Hydro is an advanced wound dressing that combines the wound healing properties of honey with the advantages of a hydrogel dressing. L-Mesitran® Hydro is the primary dressing for the treatment of burns, skin tears, ulcers and acute trauma wounds.

 

 The thin honey-hydrogel layer in this medical device is capable of absorbing 5 times its own weight of wound fluid and does not disintegrate. It will follow the contours of the wound and keeps contact with the wound surface. 

 

L-Mesitran® Hydro provides an ideal healing environment with less pain, reduction of inflammation and L-Mesitran® Hydro promotes a moist healing environment. The honey in the hydrogel will kill bacteria and fungi and will prevent further contamination or growth. This activity is due to the high osmotic properties of honey and makes L-Mesitran® Hydro the first antibacterial hydrogel sheet.
